That is what we need to be planning whether players, coaches, tactics. I’m fed up with the small club mentality that we have had for the last 30 years it’s why Ancelotti and Richarlison both left.
It started when we accepted 5th place to be acceptable to finish. It became a malaise from there just worsened year on year to the mess we are in now. We were Champions and can be again. We pity ourselves for our own downfall, when we should use it for inspiration, why can’t we be that good again?
We need to look for the future sucesses not the past failures. Myself who looks likely to be the next Pep, Klopp, Mourinho, Ferguson?
West Brom manager Carlos Corberan uses a variety of tactics, including:

Some say that Corberán is a tactical mastermind who gets the best out of his players. He’s also praised for his man management skills.
Edin Terzić, the coach of Borussia Dortmund, uses a variety of tactics, including:
Ambush: Terzić’s teams use counter-presses to ambush opponents. For example, Dortmund drew an opponent out to the left, then played a diagonal ball to Malen on the right. Malen then dribbled past the left-back and squared the ball for Adeyemi to finish the attack.
Single pivot and two eights: Terzić uses a single pivot and two eights in the half-spaces who combine with the full-backs to escape pressure. The wide players can roll inside to narrower positions to occupy opposing center-backs.
Compact shape: When in possession, Dortmund plays in a compact, narrow shape to funnel the ball between players.

Some have criticized Terzić’s tactics, saying that they are becoming too predictable and that he’s failing to inspire the team and fans.
This is the calibre of coaches we should be aiming for, and providing them with the players to do the job, as both are team builders, who coach and mould their players to their design. Which will fit with our new mantra of being self- proficient too.
