The 2024 NFL trade deadline has come and gone as the buzzer sounded at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
With so many teams in the mix at the halfway point with the expanded playoffs, there was plenty of activity by contenders.
Deadline day was highlighted by the Washington Commanders acquiring four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore from the New Orleans Saints and the Detroit Lions adding edge rusher Za’Darius Smith from the Cleveland Browns.
The Pittsburgh Steelers also got into the action on Tuesday by making a pair of moves that netted receiver Mike Williams from the Jets and pass rusher Preston Smith from the Packers.
There were also a handful of smaller deals in the closing minutes before the deadline, which followed some more significant trades that took place in the prior weeks.
Most notable were three wide receiver additions: the Jets struck a deal for WR Davante Adams from the Raiders; the Bills added WR Amari Cooper from the Browns; and the Chiefs brought in WR DeAndre Hopkins from the Titans.

The story of this deadline is also about the deals that didn’t get done.
While there were rumors about 2023 No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young being dealt, the Panthers opted to stick with their quarterback. The same went for the Colts and QB Anthony Richardson, who reportedly drew interest from other teams.
Cooper Kupp’s name was also thrown around in trade rumors, but the Rams are still connected in the NFC wild-card race, particularly after Sunday’s overtime win in Seattle, and head coach Sean McVay says he wouldn’t want the Super Bowl 56 MVP to leave Los Angeles.
