Peel Retail & Leisure has announced the opening of Pret A Manger at Gloucester Quays, bringing the popular British sandwich and organic coffee chain to the city for the first time. This announcement follows a series of food and beverage openings at Gloucester Quays – including a new Subway also now open on High Orchard Street – adding to the destination’s growing food options for its diverse catchment of all-day shoppers and locals and strengthening its reputation as a top 10 UK outlet.
The new 1,841 sq ft eatery features seating for 85 people, Pret’s signature interior design with wooden accents and red tones, and will be managed by franchise partner, Dallas Holdings Limited. The menu includes a variety of renowned handmade sandwiches, wraps, salads, baked goods, and snacks.
Subway has also recently opened a 603 sq ft unit at Gloucester Quays, expanding the variety of grab-and-go options available. The popular chain offers customisable sandwiches and salads, with choices that include a variety of meats, plant-based alternatives, cheeses, fresh vegetables, and signature sauces.
Paul Carter, Asset Director at Peel Retail & Leisure, commented: “Gloucester Quays is both an outlet for all-day shoppers and a focal point for our local community, so the variety of food on offer has to match that diversity. The openings of Pret and Subway at Gloucester Quays demonstrate our commitment to delivering real choice, supplementing the array of casual dining we already have. By introducing these options, we are removing the either/or decision for our customers, ensuring everyone that comes here has access to something that meets their needs and type of visit.”
Krishan Thakrar, Co-founder and COO of Dallas Holdings Limited added: “Creating 10 new jobs in the local community, we’re so excited to be open at Gloucester Quays, a vibrant location that brings together a unique mix of shopping, dining, and community. Gloucester Quays’ dynamic atmosphere and strong connection with locals and visitors from over an hour away make it an ideal spot for Pret.”
