Liverpool Players v Spurs Review

Liverpool FC are top of the league!
Was actually a little nervous as it was an away game and spurs are offensively sound while we haven’t exactly been watertight at the back, but we totally dominated them and blew them away. 6-3 probably flattered them

Alisson, the best ball at this feet Keeper in the league. Could have done a bit better with the goals I guess but 2 were good shots from close range.

Thought we were seeing TAA of old with all the long raking diagonals and crosses. Albeit, this version is better in 1v1 defending.

Robbo had a mix game. Defended well in general but was caught under the ball for their 3rd goal. Had some nice overlaps and crosses too.

VVD and Gomez, thought the pair worked well but do think Konate is the superior partner as his front footed aggressiveness complements the cool and laid back approach of VVD better. Still, always appreciate Gomez for turning up with the goods when needed.

Mac, good game overall, dangerous in opposition half and somewhat a liability at times in our own half. Once again got closed down for their 1st but he did grab a goal.

Sozb, did everything and could have scored more. He’s still not at this best, but he’s got a good engine, pace, strength, skills, passing, and shooting. He worked so hard, presses so well and covers a lot of ground. His direct running off the shoulder was something they couldn’t handle.

Gravenberch, does what he does best. Winning balls, turning, carrying and passing it on.

Salah – a once season wonder that shouldn’t be having so many records to his name. He needs to be tested for substances because how can one turn the clock back and get the numbers he’s getting? He’s just effective and has plenty of end product. Perhaps he could be our Lewandowski and last 5 more years?

Diaz – tormented spurs to no end, probably should have scored more.

Gakpo did ok, and was probably the only one that did fine in a spectacular performance.

Thoughts all the subs had a nice run out when the game was wrapped and also appreciate their hard running and Nunez’s defensive contributions.

Now let’s dream of 20.
