Questions Concerning Rangers And Philippe Clement

Questions Concerning Rangers And Philippe Clement

I have been thinking a lot about what should happen with Philippe Clement (PC) recently, a lot more than I should probably and no doubt others are the same. I keep asking myself these questions:

1. Can we afford to sack PC?

2. Can we afford not to sack PC?

Going by what John said with the £7 million to pay him off, I would say we can’t afford to sack him. But this falls on the incompetence of the Board giving him a longer contract.

3. PC in interviews / press conferences:

He just waffles utter rubbish a lot and goes on and on. Can he inspire the team when fans are getting bored with his press conferences?

4. Has he lost the dressing room?

I have no idea if he has or not. I would tend to side with he hasn’t because of the performance against Celtic and European performances as well.

5. We don’t seem to have any money for this window:

PS with his imminent statement should tell us if it ever happens.

6. Who could we get as a new manager and would it benefit him coming in just now?

I thought it would benefit a new manager yesterday, but the more I thought about it, I’m unsure as he would probably get a free ride until next season.

7. Do I think PC can ever win the league for Rangers?

I can’t to be brutally honest, especially with our away form. Which must be the worst away form from a manager at Rangers for a long time.

8. Do we still need rid of a lot of players?

100% yes, Matondo, Dowell, Dessers, Tavernier (wages) include a few youngsters in there who haven’t progressed.

9. Do I genuinely see progression in this team with PC?

Yes, against Celtic and European games. With League away games, I only see us going backwards.

10. Will sacking PC sort out all our problems?

Hell no, as the Board and players have to take the share of the criticism, but the buck stops with the manager and on that I have come to the conclusion that I don’t know what is best anymore. 🤯

That’s just some of the questions that came to me. This is probably me just waffling, but like to see thoughts of other posters.

We all want the same thing; Rangers to be successful again. We’re just disagreeing on how we get there.

P.S. I see the panel agreed that the Hibs penalty was the correct decision.
