Everton v Manchester United Review
The first 45 mins yesterday was some of the best football I’ve seen at the club in the last 20 years and I honestly mean that. We had fight and aggression but also ideas on how to beat the opposition.
Lindstrom and Harrison were superb in closing down and getting in their faces but then passing and getting into dangerous areas was also top quality. Then to see Doucs put in a great 1st half performance and Beto continue his scoring was also brilliant to see.
The second half was typical David Moyes. 2-0 and telling the team to sit in a little more and stopping the wing backs to not venture forward as much. Sometimes it goes for you and others you end up like yesterday. The second half was what we’ve seen all season and last year too.
Manchester United were done, we should have slaughtered them that second half but Jesper going off and us sitting back, we went from alpha to beta and simply capitulated.
However, I’m still so happy with the team and how they are developing. We’re a world apart from under Sean Dyche.
Right the penalty and it was 100% a penalty. Only showing the ref certain angles was wrong. VAR getting involved was wrong. The time it took was wrong, but look at what’s going on.
It took ages to award us a goal and that is the same almost every time we score. Why is this happening to us? It’s taking 3-5 mins and they look at every inch of the pitch to try and not give it. All this has to stop. Is it CLEAR AND OBVIOUS CORRUPTION?
I am sick of the EPL and how they are clearly favouring certain teams and they 100% do, imo. No one can say they don’t after yesterday. The Man City handball, the Liverpool play, who should have been sent off only to not give a second yellow and allow him to be substituted, VAR not giving us a handball penalty only to give the same type of handball penalty to the opposition. It has to stop.
Anyway, move on and I hope we keep up this fighting spirit and continue to learn from our mistakes. Brentford next and it’s so nice to be looking forward to games and not dread them. We’ve come a long way in a short period of time, don’t lose faith and keep positive.
