Gervonta “Tank” Davis will face a challenge from Lamont Roach for the WBA lightweight title this weekend. Davis, currently the WBA lightweight world champion, has held the belt since 2019 and won all but two of his fights by knocking out his opponent. But 130-pound champion Lamont Roach thinks he can outsmart Tank in the ring.
“The IQ and the skillset that I have, compared to everyone else that he’s fought, it’s just levels above. The tenacity that I’m gonna combine with it, is definitely something he’s not used to. I’m bringing the total package,” Roach explained during a media workout.
The card’s co-main event features Jose Valenzuela defending the WBA super lightweight title against Gary Antuanne Russell. The fight kicks off at 8 p.m. ET and will be available to purchase via Amazon Prime Video PPV. Here’s what else you need to know.
