Located within the historic Metropolitan Arcade – a former Edwardian shopping arcade, the venue will mark a new milestone for the City of London’s growing food scene, adding a global line up of kitchens and concepts and chef-led experiences.

Matt Snell, CEO of BOXPARK, said, “With only a month to go until we open BOXHALL City, we are all hugely excited for the next step in BOXPARK’s journey. We’re delighted to welcome 13 exceptional dining experiences to take space at this beautifully restored arcade, as well as providing a platform for the latest culinary talent to test new ideas. This mix of food and drink brands, the chef-led kitchen and heritage venue has resulted in the creation of an exciting new destination, unlike anything we’ve done before.

“From baker Sourdough Sophia, who started baking from her dining room as a way to support and connect with the local community, to Club Mexicana, whose founder has a clear mission to change perceptions of plant-based food. BOXHALL City will provide the City with a new all-day offer and a destination to enjoy delicious cuisines from across the globe.”

Sophia Handschuh, co-founder and CEO of Sourdough Sophia, said, “From our first sourdough experiment in the dining room to now, Sourdough Sophia has been on a whirlwind journey of growth and connection. Starting during lockdown, our little bakery has become a staple in north London, and now, we’re spreading our wings to BOXHALL City. This expansion is more than just a new shop; it’s a chance to bring our love for real, artisanal bread to the bustling heart of London’s food scene. BOXHALL City is going to be a melting pot of flavours and people, and we’re excited to be part of that mix.

“At Sourdough Sophia, community is our secret ingredient. It’s what makes our bread special and our shops feel like home. By moving to BOXHALL City, we’re not just opening a new location; we’re inviting a whole new group of people to be part of our family. Whether you’re a City worker grabbing a quick lunch, a local exploring the area, or a tourist looking for a taste of London, we can’t wait to welcome you to our newest home. Come and experience the Sourdough Sophia difference— where every loaf tells a story, and every visit is a chance to connect. Here’s to new beginnings and the joy of sharing great food with great people!”

Meriel Armitage, founder of Club Mexicana, said, “At Club Mexicana, our mission is to change people’s perceptions of plant-based food through game changing tacos absolutely packed with flavour – we always do things differently, with innovation and excitement at our core! So, it’s incredibly exciting to be partnering with BOXPARK who are constantly innovating, always exciting and absolutely iconic.  Street Food is at the heart of everything we do at Club Mexicana, so it’s a massive privilege to be part of the BOXHALL CITY lineup to help pair their street food legacy with a location that preserves a truly special slice of London’s history. I can’t wait to take our customers on a journey from Edwardian London to the streets of Mexico City!”
