Things got a bit chaotic on Saturday, but Scottie Scheffler came out on top.
Scheffler, who chipped in for birdie to start his day, rallied late to take a one-shot lead over a loaded leaderboard headed into Sunday’s final round at Augusta National. Scheffler birdied the final hole to grab the solo lead and finish his 1-under 71. That gave him a one-shot lead with 18 holes to go.
If he can fend off the rest of the field, Scheffler would earn his second career green jacket on Sunday night.
Collin Morikawa sits in second at 6-under after he carded a 3-under 69 on Saturday . He was in the lead briefly down the stretch on Saturday, along with four others at one point, but held on as everyone else slipped away. Bryson DeChambeau, who started the day with a share of the lead, finished the round at 3-under after a brutal late collapse. He did hole out for birdie at the 18th, which helped save his round.
