This month, the UK’s Greek restaurant group The Real Greek will launch its first range of retail products into Tesco stores nationwide. The range of 15 brand new products features a selection of hot meals based on classic Greek dishes such as Pastitsio and Moussaka, hot and cold meze, and ingredients to create either chicken or pork Souvlaki at home. Each of the products can either be eaten alone or paired together to create a larger Greek feast for family and friends.

Designed to re-create restaurant-quality dining at home, the new range includes some of the best loved dishes from The Real Greek restaurant menu – a diverse and extensive menu that celebrates Greece’s gastronomic traditions, as well as taking inspiration from the latest innovations from Athens’ buzzing restaurant scene.

Developed in collaboration with upscale food importer Rondanini, the new range will cater to the growing popularity of Greek cuisine in the UK – a trend that can be seen in the demand for new openings of The Real Greek restaurants across the UK. At the start of 2024 alone, the group added to its 25-strong portfolio with two new sites in Sheffield and Liverpool, taking it up to 27 across the country, with future openings in the pipeline.

Marcel Khan, Chief Executive of The Real Greek, comments: “We’re excited to be able to bring restaurant-quality dishes to the aisles of Tesco supermarkets across the country. With the size of the new range, we’re giving shoppers a lot to choose from and making it easy for them to create memorable dining experiences that celebrate the rich flavours and traditions of Greece. The growth of Greek cuisine is only set to continue in the UK and we’re confident that this innovative new range will deliver the taste of the Aegean that consumers arelooking for.”

Raffaella Cappellaro, Commercial Director of Rondanini, comments: “We have really enjoyed collaborating with The Real Greek on their new retail range, re-creating the brand’s much-loved restaurant dishes for people to eat in their homes. We always look to source fresh and natural ingredients for all the ranges that we develop, and Greek cuisine easily lends itself to this ethos.”

The launch of The Real Greek’s new retail range in Tesco will be supported by an integrated marketing campaign, spanning digital advertising, shopper promotions and social media activity.
