“No sign of life” has been detected after rescue teams found a crashed helicopter carrying Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, according to state media.

The semi-official Tasnim news did not elaborate further.

State media said the helicopter was forced to make a ‘hard landing’ in the mountainous northern province of East Azerbaijan after getting into difficulties in heavy fog on Sunday.
