Woodford Reserve Launched a Father's Day Selection Bourbon

If you haven’t picked up a Father’s Day gift for your dad yet, you’re probably not alone. Thankfully, Woodford Reserve has a pretty good option available—a newly announced limited-edition bourbon that was selected by master distiller Elizabeth McCall and her dad, Tim O’Neill, which you can purchase at the distillery or online. But hurry up, there’s only three more days…

Elizabeth McCall has been master distiller for Woodford Reserve for a little over a year now after taking over the position from longtime master distiller Chris Morris (who still holds the title master distiller emeritus). She’s just the third person to hold the job at Woodford, which was founded in 1996, and she worked at the Brown-Forman-owned distillery in many different capacities over the years before getting this deserved promotion. Fast-forward to this week when Woodford announced the release this special Father’s Day Selection release, which is actually a small collection of bourbons. According to the brand, McCall and her father spent a day at the distillery in Versailles, Kentucky where they picked casks and ultimately batched together seven different two-barrel blends. Each batch comes in a one-liter bottle at 90.4 proof, just like regular Woodford bourbon, and is made from the same mashbill as the core expression. So essentially this is like a small run of barrel picks that have been blended together.

This is just the latest news to come out of the Woodford distillery in recent months. Most recently, we reported on the release of the new Toasted Bourbon, the newest member of the Distillery Series. And over the past few months the distillery has launched a new edition of its Baccarat bourbon that is its most expensive whiskey to date, the 2024 Kentucky Derby Bourbon, and a new version of its Batch Proof barrel-strength bourbon. Five of the new Father’s Day Selection will be sold online and two at the distillery, so keep an eye out if you’re interested in trying what McCall and her dad thought was worth putting into a bottle. In the meantime, you can shop the entire Woodford collection now at ReserveBar.
