SINGAPORE: A Singaporean woman who was reportedly last seen in January was found dead in a Vietnam apartment on Thursday (Jun 13).
According to Vietnamese media, the woman’s body was discovered at The Goldview condominium in Ho Chi Minh City.
The woman, who was not named, was last seen on Jan 31, Vietnamese daily Nguoi Lao Dong reported.
The owner of the apartment found the body and alerted the condominium’s management committee. The police were then called in.
An initial investigation showed that the owner had not rented out the apartment, and the last recorded use of the unit’s elevator access card was on Jan 31, according to Vietnamese media.
In response to queries from CNA, Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said its Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City has been in contact with the local authorities regarding the case.
MFA and the Consulate-General have been providing assistance and support to the woman’s family.
“We express our deepest condolences to the family,” a spokesperson for the ministry said. “MFA is unable to comment further on the case as investigations are ongoing.”
