Former President Jimmy Carter, a peanut farmer and Georgia state governor before becoming president, has died at the age of 100. Since leaving the White House, Carter has logged millions of miles and visited dozens of countries on missions to wipe out diseases, mediate conflicts, advocate for human rights and monitor elections.
