Theatre Futures panel on the stage of the Court Theatre in Chicago: Moderator Lane Sugata and panelists Martine Kei Green-Rogers, Jocelyn Prince, PennyMaria Jackson, and Charlique Rolle.
Offscript, American Theatre’s flagship podcast for a number of years, is back as a Facebook Live chat with the magazine’s editors and special guests as well as an audio podcast.
On the last day of TCG’s recent national conference in Chicago, American Theatre gathered four of the writers we’ve asked to contribute to our new Theatre Futures series envisioning a way forward for theatre as it stands at a crossroads. Sponsored by the Ford Foundation, this series has kicked off with four essay/provocations in our Summer print issue and will continue to roll out with 12 more pieces through the rest of 2024. Hosted by Ford’s Lane Sugata, the panel included Martine Kei Green-Rogers, dean of The Theatre School at Chicago’s DePaul University; Jocelyn Prince, a principal at ALJP Consulting, a search and strategic planning firm for the arts and culture sector; PennyMaria Jackson, director of marketing and communications for Steppenwolf Theatre Company; and Charlique Rolle, a community and cultural design specialist recently hired as a producer at Baltimore Center Stage.
