The supermarket has begun stocking clothes from online retailer Missguided at some of its branches. Shoppers are now able to pick up garments from the popular clothing brand at Asda’s George section.
Asda starting begun selling Missguided clothes from Monday, August 16.
The news was announced on Missguided’s blog, Babezine, as well as on Twitter.
The fashion retailer said on its website: “Ever been shopping for a meal deal or grabbing the weekly shop when you realise you have nothing to wear for the weekend?
“Haven’t we all. We are about to solve all your problems.”
It added: “At over 100 stores across the UK, you will be able to pick up a new pair of jeans with your pizza or a faux leather jacket with your pint of milk.”
Yesterday, Missguided tweeted that the news of the collaboration was “official” and listed which Asda stores were currently stocking its clothes.
The branches are located in all four nations of the UK.
In Northern Ireland, the Asda stores in both Belfast and Enniskillen have started selling Missguided clothes.
The Scottish branches involved in the change are in Edinburgh and Glasgow, among others.
In Wales, Missguided clothes are available in Wrexham, Cwmbran, Cardiff, and Bridgend.
Meanwhile, there are various English locations, including Leeds, Rotherham, Sheffield, London, Derby, Folkestone, and more.
Customers have already expressed their delight at the news on social media.
One Missguided fan wrote on Twitter: “This is the collab we were all needing in our life!!!”
Another person said: “I’m so excited.”
One person simply commented: “Amaze!”
Another person added: “Omg!!!”
George at Asda said the move was part of its wider plan to partner with “relevant brands” and “create a compelling customer proposition for younger shoppers”.
Zoe Mathews, Vice President of George Product, explained: “We’ve already launched with a number of third-party brands to offer their products online and in our stores.
“A focus on test and learn and agile processes has enabled us to do this at pace, taking learnings from each to continually improve the customer experience.
“We continue to grow the roster of brands we’re able to offer, with more exciting collaborations planned that complement our core George fashion business.”
