Welsh jockey James Bowen has lodged an appeal against the seven-day suspension handed to him by the whip review committee which rules him out of the Cheltenham Festival.
Bowen, 23, rode Zestful Hope to victory at Hereford on Sunday but was found guilty of excessive use of the whip approaching the home bend.
The ban is set to run from March 11, the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival, to the following Monday, March 17.
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has announced Bowen has lodged an appeal, with the details of his hearing to be finalised at a later date.
Bowen shared the spoils with brother Sean at Cheltenham racecourse in December after a dead heat was recorded between their horses.
