For what it’s worth, here’s my thoughts. nothing new that hasn’t been discussed already, but, was bored so I thought I’d contribute something for discussion. I think both Salah and VVD will sign new contracts at Liverpool FC, and I feel Trent is currently torn between staying and Madrid. I think he’s still undecided and will make a decision at the end of the season, but my gut is that he’ll head to Madrid. Not going to mention incoming names, these have already been discussed to death and also, these positions could be filled with reserve players.
KEEPERS:
KELLEHER – will push to be No. 1 elsewhere and sold, plus we have MARMADUKE coming in as No. 2.
DEFENCE:
TSIMIKAS – I would sell and bring in a replacement, with Robbo as backup and maybe look to replace next summer.
GOMEZ – decent backup, but few injuries lately and not that convinced when defending. Doesn’t read the line well and tends to just run back towards the goal, playing everyone on. Okay if he stays, but may push for regular time elsewhere.
QUANSAH – still undecided as not strong enough on times plus, confidence taken a hit this season, so let’s see how the rest of the season and pre-season goes, and make a judgement call then.
KONATE – immense this season, but for such a big solid unit, he can mince about a bit on times (albeit, not many) and get pushed around, so needs to be a brick s. house for 90+ mins.
OUTS – TSIMIKAS (GOMEZ, TRENT).
INS – would like to see another CB and LB come in regardless if only TSIMIKAS leaves, or ideally CB and CB / LB combo. and of course RB if TRENT goes.
MIDFIELD:
Don’t need too much in this area IMO
BAJCETIC – would give him a pre-season and make a call then. Keep ENDO and that’s 3 CDMs.
ELLIOTT – like the lad. Offers something different and always looks to go forward. I would keep, but I fear he’ll be sacrificed.
OUTS – ELLIOT (BAJECTIC)
INGS – AM and CDM if BAJECTIC is sold
FORWARDS:
Think this could be an area that’s refreshed heavily if we can get the right players in.
NUNEZ – unfortunately, his time is up and will be sold.
CHISEA – quality player on his day, maybe assess after a full pre-season? Dunno. undecided, but happy if stays.
JOTA – injuries are letting him down, so I’d sell if the opportunity arises to get in a replacement.
DIAZ – had a couple of decent games recently, so clearly showing what he’s capable of, but sometimes his final ball is way off and doesn’t take on the FB as often as he should. Most of the time, it’s like watching RAY WILKINS. Nothing wrong with that, but NOT what you want from your wide attacker, so maybe look to upgrade if we can get the right player. Also, may push to leave if Barcelona come calling, so I’d be happy to replace.
OUTS – NUNEZ, DIAZ (JOTA).
INS – ST and LW, also another ST if JOTA is sold. Ideally, 1 or 2 that can play across all 3 positions.
Just my opinion guys, so appreciate everyone is welcome to their own. more intended to open discussions.
