Whilst the Manchester United players currently within our attacking roles might not be filling their boots, we are creating a lot of chances, which is far greater than the alternative (and we have been through that stage).
I support United to be entertained and because they have a history of bringing through youth, something which has happened a lot over the last few years. Maybe due to financial restrictions forcing their hand, maybe the players deserved their chance.
I personally would want that to continue, so I think it is too early to throw any of them out, even Rashford I can see an improvement on what the last couple of seasons have been (case in point would be the Chelsea game where he did actually track back, as opposed to Garnacho) Garnacho had an off day
I think with Rasmus, there is a player there, but again, he is young and is learning on the run.
A lot of people wanted Kane, or a Kane style of player, if course he would be burying the chances we are creating. I think we will see Obi-Martin come through quicker than expected as he passes gradual tests this season at higher grades. Competition for places will improve the group collectively.
Zirkzee I am not sure on, he has done nothing to impress me and if the only reason we bought him was because he represented good value in the market, it might have been better to skip past the opportunity.
Amad is not a first teamer, there were a lot on here calling for that, he simply is not good enough to be a first name on the team sheet, Rashford and Garnacho are certainly ahead in my eyes. Like Zirkzee though, in this moment we are in, he isn’t a bad option off the bench.
At the end of this season, there will likely be a number of roles to fill with contracts expiring (Evans, Eriksen, Lindelof, Maguire and Amad, last two have option for an extra year) you would have to say none of those should really be retained. In addition, We will hopefully be offloading the likes of Anthony, Casemiro, and a complete reset at left back) .
Whilst the defence / midfield might well be performing currently, I always feel they are close to a calamity. Maybe the lack of goals scored is papering over the cracks within our back lines. Shining light this year has been Onana, a good exame of sticking with someone and eventually they bear fruit.
Reminder, the majority of the players are not bad players.
