I wasn’t happy with Steven Gerrard at times, think i argued with someone on here about him. Same with Morelos I was not happy with him at times either.
Ross Wilson was another i just didn’t quite like at times along with Mark Allen before him. I didn’t like Michael Beale and never thought he should have had the manager’s job.
GVB, I was on the fence about for our domestic football, what a missed opportunity in Europe! i actually now think that he should have been given more time as Glasgow Rangers manager and feel sorry for him with how it all ended for with him Beale in the stands and all.
With Philippe Clement (PC), I’ve thought he needs to go, then I’ve thought he should stay. Now I’m firmly in the stance that he should stay and see out a few more players i.e. James Tavernier (Tav), Balogun, Lawrence, Dessers – think they now need to be moved on.
Let’s finish the clear out, see where our club is and what Nils Koppen and PC can do when the rest of the mentioned players are out the door. Most of us thought PC shouldn’t be judged until all players mentioned were gone and he had his very own squad of at least 22.
Koppen isn’t spending like Mark Allen, Ross Wilson or Beale. PC’s not been backed in the same capacity as all previous managers going back to Gerrard and he’s still had a lot to deal with that those other managers didn’t have to deal with. I thought we were all going to follow the process of getting our club back to being stable and sustainable. Too many players are letting our manager down.
As I said, my gut feeling with all previous personnel mentioned at times didn’t sit right with me apart from winning the 55th League title. Although, Gerrard wasn’t that successful and Morelos for as much as some people made him out to be won very little when everything is taken into account. Ryan Kent was another who won practically nothing.
I’ve championed Tav on here being fit and available for games. His stats and professionalism etc. but for a captain of Rangers Football club he’s seen more managers out the door than I can remember any other Rangers captain.
My gut right now says certain players need to leave ASAP before the manager goes and we need to give PC and Koppen more of a chance and time to get the club running properly.
We want a club down the line to support, so i say leave them to carry on doing their jobs and give them more time. They’re not fleecing the club and PC is pulling through the carnage left previously and with the intense scrutiny and pressure from the fans, he’s still here trying to do a job.
Even when Bennet stepped down and the changes being made and the apparent ‘no money’ excuse, they’re still here. If PC goes, I reckon a few fans on here and in the stands are going to be scratching their heads on what will unfold from it.
I think that RamblingGer poster might not be far off from what he posted on rangersrumours.co.uk. If certain individuals demand their money back, if they get fed up with it all, what is going to go? What sellable assets will be going to fund their money back? Who is going to pay the wages and bills then?
