Former Bernie Sanders Adviser Says There Was ‘Never A Chance In Hell’ Harris Would’ve Beat Trump

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) former adviser, Tezlyn Figaro, says “there was never a chance in hell” that Vice President Kamala Harris would’ve won over Donald Trump in the presidential election, slamming her campaign as “a disaster.”

“There was never a chance in hell that VP Harris was going to have a shot at this,” Figaro told NewsNation’s Dan Abrams on Friday.

“I said it, Dan, in June, I said it in July — they’re setting her up for a 100-day campaign, a woman of color in particular, a 100-day campaign was a disaster,” she continued. “Joe Biden should’ve got off the last two years. They should’ve had a primary and ran somebody for that seat.”

After Abrams asked her to specify what she thinks went wrong, Figaro highlighted the missteps she believes led to Harris’ defeat.

“Well, one, Joe Biden was the problem,” Figaro said. “He should’ve got off beforehand.”

“But I do want to address the consultant class that have fumbled … a billion-dollar bag,” she added, alleging they’ve been doing this “since Obama ran.”

“They have literally came into these cities, they did not listen to the grassroots. They said that they knew it all,” Figaro said. “They spent all the money internally, they spent all the money on celebrities, they did not listen to the needs of the people.”

Noting that the consultant class “got exactly what they earned,” she went on to say that “it’s unfortunate because the people will now suffer as a result.”

“It is time, respectfully, to the George Clooneys of the world, the Hollywood of the world, respectfully to the James Carville of the world, who they’re still listening to … it’s time for them to have a seat and listen to the grassroots and what it is that they’re looking for,” Figaro said.

“And until they do that, Democrats will continue to fail.”
