Scottish middleweight Sam Hickey enjoyed a solid professional debut with a points win over John Henry Mosquera.

The Dundee-born fighter, 24, comfortably outpointed his Colombian opponent, taking all four rounds on the undercard for Adam Azim’s impressive eighth-round stoppage of Ohara Davies at London’s Copper Box Arena.

Hickey won the middleweight gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, having collected a European bronze in the same year.

Hopes of competing at this summer’s Olympics in Paris were dashed after his weight category was removed from the programme.
