Member states have until June 2026 to implement the first EU migration pact, aimed at harmonising border procedures and systems for handling irregular migrants arriving on EU territory.

Radio Schuman discussed the most sensitive aspects of the new EU migration policy with Federica Toscano, senior policy advisor at Save the Children Europe.

We also take a quick look at another law under construction: the AI Act which entered into force on 1 August. Companies must comply with the legislation within a series of pre-established deadlines, but how will the EU help them to fall in line with the new law?

Radio Schuman is hosted and produced by Maïa de la Baume, with journalist and production assistant Eleonora Vasques, audio editing by Zacharia Vigneron and music by Alexandre Jas.
