Islamic State fighting complicates effort to unify Syria

Many Syrians would like to see the U.S.-backed Kurdish forces in the east lay down their weapons or join what they hope will become a national army. But Kurdish leaders say they are still fighting on two fronts and want to negotiate a “partnership” with Syria’s new leadership. VOA’s Heather Murdock reports from Istanbul with Yan Boechat in northeastern Syria.
