For different reasons, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) could be responsible for the emergence of three different major villains in Phase 4 of the MCU.
Three MCU Phase 4 villains could be born from the events of Loki. Decisions that Tom Hiddleston’s character has made (and will make in the future) could be responsible for the emergence of not only the Time Variance Authority, but also Thor: Love and Thunder’s Gorr the God Butcher and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s Kang the Conqueror.
Loki, who is no stranger to causing trouble in the MCU, may cause more disasters, which will see him get captured by the TVA. Since the main version of Loki died at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, the focus of the show will be on the 2012 Loki from Avengers: Endgame’s divergent timeline. Since this Loki was far from reformed at this point in time, it won’t be surprising at all if he unleashes all sorts of problems on the MCU. The dangers he poses haven’t gone unnoticed by Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius and the TVA.

It’s possible that Loki is directly linked to the arrival of multiple villains in the MCU’s future. One of them could have been set in motion by the original timeline Loki sometime before his death. In the comic books, Gorr the God Butcher is known for carrying out a crusade in the comics against the gods, who he hates for not saving his family. His animosity stems from the fact he believes that gods are capable of using their power to save people, but choose not to. It could be that the MCU’s take on him will have his life upended by something that happened between Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok. That would make sense, since that was a time when Loki had replaced Odin as the ruler of Asgard. If Gorr’s family died because Loki was a neglectful king, that could be the real reason why he becomes a threat in Thor 4.
Then there’s the matter of the TVA. The trailer presents them as potential allies, but their true nature remains to be seen. What lengths these time cops will go to police the timestream is unknown. Right now, it looks like they may be forcing the Loki variant to do their bidding, which certainly doesn’t paint them in a good light. It’s important to keep in mind that there is comic book precedent for them to turn out to be villains. The comic book version of the TVA was so committed to their mission that they had no qualms about battling heroes, including She-Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and the Two-Gun Kid.
If Loki defeats the TVA or derails their operations, he could inadvertently open the door for Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man 3. It seems reasonable that given the purpose of the TVA, they may be the one thing standing in the way of Kang invading the MCU’s present-day Earth. But if the TVA falls because of a fight with Loki, there may be no one around to stop Kang from traversing the timestream as he pleases and paying a visit to the 21st century in Phase 4. It wouldn’t be the first time other heroes would be forced into cleaning up a mess created by Loki.
