MMA star Nate Diaz has been hit with a misdemeanor battery charge.

Diaz, 39, was involved in an alleged incident in Las Vegas’ Omnia nightclub at Ceasars Palace on Aug. 24. The misdemeanor battery charge was reportedly dealt on Oct. 16. TMZ Sports first reported the news.

Diaz and his team have yet to comment on the situation.

Footage of the alleged incident was captured and published on social media in September, showing Diaz and a staffer of the club getting into a pushing contest before getting separated. During the exchange, Diaz can be seen shoving an open right hand into the face of the club staffer.

Diaz had already departed Caesars Palace by the time police arrived on the scene, per the report.

Diaz is looking at a maximum of six months in jail and fines of up to $1,000 if convicted, though it’s unlikely things could escalate to that degree for a misdemeanor case like this.

In 2023, Diaz avoided second-degree battery charges stemming from a street brawl in New Orleans that saw him choke Logan Paul impersonator Rodney Petersen unconscious with a guillotine during Mardi Gras.

Diaz most recently competed in combat sports this past July when he laced up the gloves for a boxing rematch with former UFC rival Jorge Masvidal. Diaz lost the pair’s initial MMA encounter in November 2019 when Masvidal defeated him via third-round knockout at UFC 244 for the inaugural BMF title, but earned revenge in the boxing rematch, besting “Gamebred” via a majority decision.

Diaz has competed twice overall since parting ways with his longtime UFC home in September 2022, also boxing against — and losing to — Jake Paul.

The Stockton, California native went out on a high with his final UFC fight when he submitted fellow veteran Tony Ferguson with a fourth-round guillotine.
