ATHENS, Ga. – Continuing a proud Olympic tradition, 33 current, former, and future University of Georgia student-athletes will compete in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, beginning next Friday in Paris, France.
The delegation of 33 athletes will be joined by eight individuals participating in coaching, operations, media relations, and broadcasting capacities. The entire contingent will participate in 10 different sports and represent 20 different nations, including eight on Team USA.
Track and field supplies the largest block of athletes and coaches, with 22 Bulldogs heading to Paris, while swimming follows with six and tennis at three. The 2024 delegation is the second-largest in Georgia athletic history, trailing only the 36 sent to Rio in 2016 and surpassing the 30 in Tokyo in 2021.
