Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

The Ivory Sanctum button puzzle in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous involves using cryptic notes to determine the correct sequence of buttons.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous invites players to explore and fight in a world infested with demons. Wrath of the Righteous is Owlcat’s second game in the series, following the popular Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Players are tested with difficult combat and interesting choices as they fight their way through a land full of enemies.

Solving a variety of enigmas is one of the more intriguing mechanics in the game. The puzzles in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous vary in length and intricacy. There are a few challenges inside the Ivory Sanctum, an area that becomes available in Act 3. Cryptic notes give clues that help players complete the puzzles inside the Ivory Sanctum.

To enter the Ivory Sanctum, players first need to obtain a key from the Final Sunset of Winter quest. Once inside, there will be a wave of enemies to defeat. The area is full of rock traps and enemies that will attack if Jerribeth’s deal is turned down. There are four puzzles in the Ivory Sanctum that lead to various rewards. The cryptic notes give hints that help players solve the puzzles by including numbers that correspond to shapes on the buttons. The buttons are up on the wall, and each one has a figure with a specific number of points.

Solving Ivory Sanctum Puzzles in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

The Ivory Sanctum in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous does not contain many puzzles, but they are some of the more complicated ones players will face. To solve these puzzles, there must be two party members standing on pressure plates while entering the sequence solution. In addition, players will have to select bricks or buttons in a particular order to open doors to progress further. There are a total of three puzzles to solve, i.e., one in the north room, one in the central area, and the last in the southwest room.

The first button puzzle in Pathfinder is located in the main hall: a room with statues around the perimeter. A cryptic note reveals that the buttons should be pressed in the following order: triangle, hexagon, pentagon, diamond. Entering the correct code will reveal a chest that contains a cloak and a mask that’s used for the More Than Nothing quest. Continue north, fighting enemies along the way, to the upper part of the sanctum to find the next button puzzle.

In the northern part of the map, there is a button puzzle with two solutions. The first sequence will grant players a hidden chest; press diamond, circle, triangle, then hexagon. A short animation will show a wall dropping to expose the chest. The doors can be opened by pressing triangle, pentagon, diamond, and circle. If Jerribeth’s deal was turned down, she needs to be defeated along the way to the last puzzle. The ruler of the sanctum, Xanthir, can also be fought in the eastern area. Proceed through Pathfinder‘s dangerous sanctum to the southwest area for the final puzzle.

The last button puzzle in the Ivory Sanctum can be found in a southwest room with multiple chests. The clue is in one of the chests, and it reveals the final solution: circle, pentagon, hexagon, triangle. Before entering the correct sequence, two Pathfinder party members must be standing on the pressure plates in the room. Completing this puzzle will open the final area in the Ivory Sanctum and reward players with a variety of loot. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has many puzzles with clever solutions, including the button puzzles in the Ivory Sanctum.
