Prince Harry: Royal ‘finally finds his own voice’ as he guests on popular podcast

The latest episode of Armchair Expert, hosted by actors Dax Shepard and Monica Padman, was released yesterday, May 13. The show’s guest was Prince Harry, who conversed in a “generous” and “honest” manner throughout, according to an expert.

“There is a lot of passion in his voice when talking about the causes he is involved with and he also does a great job of listening to those in the space with him.”

Nicola continued: “He allows others the chance to have their say, which is an incredibly important and commendable trait in a speaker who could really dominate the room merely from being there due to who he is.”

The voice coach also suggested that Harry sounded calm and relaxed, seemingly unworried about the backlash he could receive for speaking so candidly about his life to an audience of thousands or even millions.

“He sounds comfortable and at ease in this podcast, like he’s chatting with mates,” Nicola said.

The voice coach added: “For someone is such a high status position, he navigates conversation with generosity and honesty.”

One of the main topics of discussion on the podcast was mental health, and although Prince Harry revealed in 2017 that he had sought therapy in his late 20s, he spoke about his experiences in more detail on the show.

He told Dax and Monica: “When I started doing therapy, suddenly it was like the bubble burst.

“I plucked my head out of the sand, gave a good shake off, and I was like ‘OK, you are in this position of privilege, stop complaining or stop thinking as though you want something different.

“‘Make this different, because you can’t get out.

“‘So how are you do this differently, how are you going to make your mum proud, how are you going to use your platform to really affect change and be able to give people the confidence to be able to change their lives’.”

Fans of the Armchair Expert podcast were divided over Prince Harry’s conversation with Dax and Monica, as some people seemed impressed with the Duke while others berated him for “complaining”.

One person tweeted: “This was a really ‘Full’ podcast episode. It was fun, personal, deep & thought provoking. I loved it. The young Prince is & has always been a true gentleman highly thoughtful & intelligent… Well done, really enjoyed it!!!”

Another person added: “I wish there were many more P. Harry’s in the world. Gosh, what a beautiful world it would be to live in. The majority would have empathy, be kinder, thoughtful of others, & all the media exploiters, profiting off people’s pain and suffering & mental health issues would be nil.”

One person disagreed. They said: “Do they want their cake and to eat it too? They don’t want to be part of it yet are upset that they are not really part of it. Why not drop the titles, drop the complaining about royal life not meeting expectations. Many have issues with their family of origin.”

Another person commented: “I really found him insufferable and couldn’t listen to more than half. There’s awareness and then there’s smug conviction bordering on religious wokery. Know I’m not the only one thinking this. Looking at the comments here armchair expert has an echo chamber going on.”
