Fighter Idris Abdurashitov knocked out opponent Bagher Faraji with a ferocious head kick in their ONE Championship featherweight match on Sunday.

However, Abdurashitov and Faraji were participating in a boxing match, not a MMA bout.

Faraji appeared to have the upper hand in the fight based on the brief footage available, putting Abdurashitov on the defensive with a quick jab and solid left punch to the face. The two then tangled up on the ropes and as Faraji backed away, Abdurashitov snapped a kick off and the Iranian boxer fell to the mat.

The Russian fighter was immediately disqualified for his actions and what looked like a promising combat sports career could be in jeopardy, as well. Yet Abdurashitov apparently isn’t remorseful for using a head kick in a boxing match, considering that he posted video of the incident on social media.

As you can see, Abdurashitov wrote a caption with the video but in Russian. Based on a translation, he knows the consequences of his kick.

“That’s when he made his professional boxing debut,” Abdurashitov wrote. “And a lifetime disqualification, that kick I threw out with a machine gun!”

Whether that lifetime disqualification is just from boxing or applies to his MMA career as well has yet to be determined.

The 21-year-old Abdurashitov, whose nickname is “Aggressor,” has a 4–0 record in fighting (3–0 in MMA, 1–0 in boxing). But he may not have an opportunity to add to that mark if he is banned from competing with any fight promotion.
