It’s been a long three years since a one-month suspension kept Sha’Carri Richardson out of the Tokyo Olympics, but she’s back with a vengeance this year, ready to compete for glory and the gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Richardson, the 24-year-old runner from Dallas, is one of the fastest sprinters in the world. Although this is her first time at the Olympics, she’s proven herself on the world stage before, winning gold in the 100-meter sprint and 4x100m relay at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest.
She qualified for Paris in the 100-meter sprint event at the United States Olympic trials in late June with a 10.71 time, 0.09 seconds faster than second-place finisher Melissa Jefferson.
Here’s when you can catch Sha’Carri Richardson competing for the first time at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
