Simon Reeve interview: In search of wilderness worth fighting for

“There are incredible wilderness areas out there that I think we need to know about,” says Simon Reeve of his new four-part BBC travel documentary, Wilderness with Simon Reeve. In the series, Reeve seeks out corners of our rapidly urbanising globe so far relatively untouched by humanity. Travelling across rainforests and ice fields, deserts and oceans, each programme reveals the pressures found in those places and how we might protect each unique ecosystem. We need to protect and fight for these untouched wilderness areas, says Reeve, “if we are to have any hope of combating climate change and protecting biodiversity”.
