The Maldives is a beach-lover’s paradise, and now there’s one more reason to visit the Indian Ocean archipelago.
Sun Siyam Olhuveli, a luxury resort spread over three islands on the South Malé Atoll, just unveiled 40 brand-new beachfront suites. Located on the hotel’s so-called Dream Island, each of the recently constructed room features a private plunge pool, while lush tropical gardens and crystal blue waters are just feet from your lodgings.
The swanky new suites offer about 1,100 square feet of living space, big enough to accommodate four adults or two adults plus three children. In terms of the aesthetic, the rooms are decked out with sleek and earthy hues set off by a chic, contemporary vibe. If you do plan on bringing the kids, note that there’s a convertible extra room that can be closed off from the main living area for little ones. Each suite also comes with a secluded outdoor bathtub and rain shower, plus a sprawling outdoor terrace where you can hang with your morning coffee and watch the crashing ocean waves.
“We are incredibly excited to introduce these new grand beach suites with private pools, where guests can indulge in a heightened sense of tranquility and style,” said Hassan Adil, general manager at Sun Siyam Olhuveli, in a press statement. “Our team of professionals from the planning department has truly captured the essence of the Maldives with their design, creating spaces that allow guests to connect with nature while enjoying the very best in comfort and sophistication.”
Beyond the new suites, you can make use of Sun Siyam Olhuveli’s amenities, such as its four swimming pools and on-site restaurants. On Dream Island, you’ll find three dining options in addition to a relaxing overwater spa. There are also opportunities to play a game of tennis or head out for water sports like a snorkeling safari. If you’re looking for something more advanced, you’ll also have access to 50 world-class dive sites.
Sun Siyam Olhuveli opened its doors over two decades ago, in 2002. Located 45 minutes via speedboat from Velana (Male) International Airport, the hotel features 470 rooms and villas across its three islands which are all connected by a walkway bridge. The most recent addition, known as Romance Island, debuted in 2022.
Seems like a trip to the Maldives is in order.
