If you’re looking to channel your inner James Bond, there may be no better place than the 007, a recently opened pop-up bar in London’s iconic Burlington Arcade.
The space is a testament to the legacy of Ian Fleming’s secret agent, and it’s partnered with a host of Bond’s favorite brands to bring the fictional character to life. As you walk through the Burlington Arcade, overhead hang three handcrafted sculptures inspired by the Aston Martin DB5, while underfoot is a custom carpet with famous lines from the film. Inside, you’ll find two Bond-themed bars, with specialty cocktails featuring the finest spirits from Belvedere, Blackwell Rum, Champagne Bollinger, and Macallan, and sound throughout provided by Bowers & Wilkins.
Beyond the quaffs, though, is a veritable feast of Bond memorabilia and objects associated with the series, which serious collectors may enjoy. Props like Oddjob’s hat, a Fort Knox gold bar, Goldfinger’s golf shoes, and the spyhole clock from his private jet are scattered throughout, some never before exhibited to the public. On the first floor, you’ll find exclusive items to purchase, including limited-edition framed prints, and a sneak peek at the James Bond 2024 luxury advent calendar.
Those seeking to take home something extra special can bid on a limited number of Macallan 60th Anniversary Decades whiskey sets, with the proceeds going to charity. Or if objets d’art are more your fancy, Fabergé’s Octopussy capsule collection is up for sale, including a handcrafted, limited-edition Fabergé egg.
As much as he’s known for his exploits, Bond is also admired for his watch collection. And while you can’t take them home with you, a couple of Omega timepieces are on display—the only two James Bond versions to be made in yellow gold. From 2017, there’s the Seamaster Diver 300M Commander’s watch, and from 2019 the Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Limited Edition.
Open through the end of the year, the 007 is a fitting tribute upon the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger. The space is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays, with the bar taking walk-ins only. Just remember, if you decide to order a Martini, you better ask for it shaken, not stirred.
