The Cotswold Company is pleased to announce that it will be launching its 13th UK showroom in Knutsford in early Summer, creating at least six new jobs.
Founded in 1996 in the heart of the Cotswolds, The Cotswold Company sells thoughtfully designed, carefully crafted premium furniture and accessories through a digital-led omni-channel model. Working in tandem with specialist manufacturers and employing traditional woodworking techniques, all products are built to last.
The new showroom will be the brand’s first branch in the North West, located in the Grade II-listed Union Bank building at 127 King Street. The site, which has been vacant and derelict for several years, will be completely transformed by The Cotswold Company, enhancing the local high-street whilst preserving Knutsford’s architectural heritage. As part of this the team will gently renovate the building’s original features with decorative walls and homely room-sets, preserving the original fireplaces to inspire every visitor. The showroom will offer an immersive retail space where customers can experience the Cotswold Company’s best-selling ranges of premium furniture and home accessories, alongside a fully integrated Upholstery Hub.
The launch of the Knutsford showroom follows a period of strong trading and continued growth for The Cotswold Company. In January, the Group marked its biggest month for orders ever, with £11 million in sales and a record-breaking trading day exceeding £700,000 in orders. The Cotswold Company has also continued to see positive trends in February and March, reflecting the success of its omni-channel model, and appeal of its high-quality, made-to-last furniture.
The Cotswold Company, which recently opened its 12th showroom in Harpenden, anticipates opening up to three additional showrooms this calendar year. This will support the Group’s ambitions to become one of the UK’s premium furniture and homeware brands.
Ralph Tucker, Chief Executive Officer at the Cotswold Company, said: “We’re excited to open our 13thUK showroom later this year. Our retail showrooms are a critical part of our omnichannel proposition. In addition to Knutsford, we want to bolster our UK footprint, building on our recent new opening in Harpenden which is trading ahead of expectations, and open three new showrooms in strategically important locations.
This will enable us to create more opportunities for customers to get close and personal with our products, and inspire more to shift towards high-quality, made-to-last furniture.”
