Successful pop-up shopping experience The Pop-Up Club has extended two of its retail leases in major UK cities, Manchester and London, as it continues to champion its collection of independent traders and retailers

The Pop-Up Club has continued its efforts to highlight the UK high street as it announces extensions for two of its current retail units until the end of the month for Manchester Arndale and 27th January for London’s One New Change.

Kicking off 2025 with positive news, The Pop-Up Club has announced extensions for two of its locations after a highly successful Q4 and festive period. Last year, the business held several locations in the UK including Leeds Trinity, London’s Hammersmith, Wandsworth and back to its roots in Chelmsford, as well as Manchester’s Arndale and One New Change which are now staying open.

Curating independent traders and retailers from across the country, The Pop-Up Club has become a powerhouse in the retail industry and for its commitment to championing small businesses. Originally starting in 2016 with its first pop-up launched in 2017, eight years later the business has provided a platform for small retailers and traders, helping them earn more than £1.5m across previous years by offering them a bricks and mortar opportunity to sell and meet customers on the high street.

Founder Tillie Peel said: “Times are exceptionally hard for the retail industry currently, and with an estimated 17,000 retail units to close this year it’s great to be able to head in a positive direction and announce we’re staying open for longer.

Manchester’s Arndale was a new location for us and we’ve always been welcome in the city, but this new high footfall spot was one of our most popular in the run up to Christmas. We were supported by local traders showcasing in our store as well as being visited by shoppers keen to consider supporting small businesses at Christmas. We are in a prime location next to The Apple Shop and close to retailers like Next and River Island, and we’ll now be staying open until the end of January 2025.

Our One New Change store saw a similar story with strong footfall and lots of interest from shoppers, and as a result we are thrilled to announce that we’re staying open until the 27th January. Our London locations have always proved popular, especially with commuters as well as residents and tourists and we have been hugely supported since we opened our doors here last year.

We are also in final conversations for pop ups this year, so watch this space to see which high streets we’ll be on in 2025!”

She continued: “With over 5 million small businesses in the UK*, there are so many that deserve attention and shopping small can bring huge benefits to the economy as well as supporting local incomes and talent. We’ve always prided ourselves in selecting and curating key businesses that are local to our units, but also can reap the benefits from having access to the high street and their customers.

Our network of independent businesses have found being in our stores offers real value, as well as allowing them to speak to customers, see the reactions in real time to their items and to get a taste of what the high street has to offer.”
