Tottenham come to definitive decision on January sale of Steven Bergwijn

A fresh insight into the stance of Tottenham Hotspur when it comes to the future of winger Steven Bergiwjn has been provided on Sunday evening.

Lilywhites woes

Dutchman Bergwijn has of course endured an altogether underwhelming campaign to date.

Amid a combination of fitness woes and competition for places, the one-time PSV Eindhoven standout has been afforded just three Premier League starts.

The change on the bench at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in November, meanwhile, has not paid dividends for Bergwijn, either, with Antonio Conte having made clear that all of Heung-min Son, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane sit firmly ahead of the winger in his attacking pecking order.

In turn, Bergwijn has managed only a solitary start under the watch of the Italian, albeit in a goalscoring performance against West Ham in the Carabao Cup.

Spurs reach decision

It therefore hasn’t come as all that much of a surprise to hear of the Dutch international being tipped for a January exit from north London of late.

Bergwijn, after all, remains highly regarded in many circles, with the 24-year-old possessing unquestionable talent.

It had, until now, remained altogether unclear whether, however, whether or not those in a position of power at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium were actually open to the prospect of moving

But, as alluded to above, on Sunday evening, an insight has been provided into precisely that.

As confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Conte and co. have come to the decision that Bergwijn is up for sale this month.

Dutch giants Ajax are one club understood to be keen on a permanent swoop for the one-time PSV standout, albeit with a deal between the two clubs yet to be struck:
