Police in Jupiter, Fla., said a man named Michael M. Wiseman was arrested on Friday for alleged “written threats on social media against former President Donald Trump and Senator JD Vance and their families.”
Multiple people submitted online tips about the social media posts to police, the Jupiter Police Department said in a statement.
“After investigating the reports and the suspect’s Facebook account, JPD detectives found that Wiseman had made multiple threats against Trump and Vance, who earlier this week became the Republican nominees for President and Vice President, respectively. Threats were also made concerning bodily harm to members of the Trump and Vance families,” police said.
The local police department said it coordinated its investigation with the Secret Service and the Palm Beach County State’s Attorney’s Office.
