Ukraine’s military said Tuesday it shot down 27 of 35 Russian drones used in overnight attacks that targeted areas across central and eastern Ukraine.
The Russian assault also included four missiles.
The Ukrainian air force said air defenses shot down the drones over the Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava and Sumy regions.
Chernihiv Governor Viacheslav Chaus said on Telegram falling debris damaged several buildings on the outskirts of the city of Chernihiv and injured two people.
Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region, said on Telegram that Russia’s aerial attack damaged a house and a transportation facility.
Russia’s defense ministry said it shot down two Ukrainian drones over the Bryansk and Kaluga regions.
Kaluga Governor Vladislav Shapsha reported the drone being downed in his region in a Telegram post, but did not mention any damage or casualties.
