Unilever will list its demerged ice cream business in Amsterdam, London and New York, the same three exchanges on which Unilever’s shares are traded, the company said on Thursday.
It said Jean-François van Boxmeer, chair of Vodafone and a former chief executive of Heineken, had been appointed chair of the new business.
It said the separation of the business, announced last year, was on track to be completed by the end of this year. Unilever’s primary listing is in Amsterdam.
The company said last year it would spin off the division, which includes brands such as Magnum and Ben & Jerry’s and generates more than €8bn in annual revenue, with a decision on the listing venue due by the end of March.
Unilever said underlying sales in the year to December rose 4.2 per cent, slightly short of the expected 4.3 per cent. Turnover grew 1.9 per cent to €60.8bn.
