The 2023-24 NBA season is in the book and the basketball world turns its full attention to the 2024 Paris Olympics, which could be very interesting on the men’s side.
Team USA is going for a fifth straight gold medal in the Olympics, but the men’s national team is coming off a fourth-place finish in the 2023 FIBA Men’s Word Cup in Manila, adding some intrigue to these games.
Take a look at the 2024 Olympics roster for Team USA in men’s basketball, as well as the team’s group schedule and other things to know before the competition gets underway in France.

A couple of Phoenix Suns made the team, with Kevin Durant set to suit up for his fourth Olympics.
He could become the first men’s basketball player in U.S. Olympic history to win four gold medals if Team USA can take home the gold in Paris. Durant won gold in 2012, 2016 and 2020 and is tied with Carmelo Anthony for the most gold medals in U.S. men’s basketball Olympic history. Durant can also add to his Olympic legacy, where he is already the nation’s all-time leading scorer in the Olympics (435 points).
Durant’s teammate, Devin Booker, is also set to suit up for his second Olympics.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James is returning to Olympic action after playing in 2004, 2008 and 2012, but skipping 2016 and 2020 (Team USA took home the bronze in 2004).
The Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry is set to make his Olympics debut for Team USA.

When does Team USA men’s basketball play in the 2024 Paris Olympics?
Team USA’s first game is scheduled for July 28 against Serbia (8:15 a.m. MST).
It is set to play South Sudan noon MST on July 31 and then take on the winner of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament on Aug. 3 at 8:15 a.m. MST.
The U.S. is in Group C, the third group. The top two teams from the three groups (Group A, Group B and Group C) and the next two best third-place teams advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Team USA has won eight of the past 10 gold medals in the Olympics, taking home bronze in 1988 and 2004.
