Euronews brings you the front-row action from Thursday’s European Council summit, with special coverage live from 08.00 CET.

On the agenda: how to make the EU more competitive and resilient in a volatile world.

The summit is set to kick off at 11.00 CET with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy dialling in before lunch to debrief leaders on his call on Wednesday with President Trump.

United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres will join leaders over lunch, a day after a UN staffer was killed in the fighting that has re-erupted in Gaza after Israel breached the ceasefire deal with Hamas.

In the afternoon, leaders will mull over two of the most pressing questions facing the bloc: how to make its economy competitive and how to prepare itself for future military aggression.

We speak live with EPP chief Manfred Weber. Stéphane Boujnah, the CEO of pan-European stock exchange Euronext, and Markus Beyrer, the Director General of Business Europe, also join our business brief.

Join us every day for the rest of this week from 08.00 CET for the latest news and freshest insights.
