2024 Olympics final medal count
Team USA finished with 40 gold medals at these Games, tying China at the top in that category. It’s the first time in the history of the Summer Olympics that two countries tied for most gold.
The U.S. team edged China in gold at the 2020 Tokyo Games, 39-38.
The United States won the 2024 Olympics overall medal count with 126. China was second with 91, and Great Britain was third with 65. Host nation France finished with 64 total medals.
