Windy Hollow Dragway was roaring with two days of drag racing action over the Fourth of July weekend.
Windy Hollow Dragway had its usual Friday Night Fun, and had “Owensboro’s Laura “Bombshell Barbie” Boling reach victory lane. She won the Friday Night Trophy Race over considerable competition on the 1/8 mile strip.
On Saturday, the track hosted six classes of WDRA Summit Sportsman Drag Racing under sunny skies and warm temperatures as drivers converged on the west Daviess County racing facility.
Terry Coleman won the trophy in the Super Pro division over Louis Conrad in a battle of two racers from Calhoun in McLean County. Colleman was in a Mustang II and Conrad was in a bright red Ford Mustang.
Both drivers crossed the finish line at over 100 mph, but it was Coleman taking home the trophy and the win.
