Guest bartenders include Colin Chia from Nutmeg & Clove, Singapore; Jon Lee from Penrose, Kuala Lumpur; Raiza Carbejo from Agite Club, Spain; Elizabeth Bello and Bernardo Jimenez from Tlecan, Mexico and Michito Kaneko from Lamp Bar, Japan.
Representing Bangkok is Niks Anuman from G.O.D Bangkok. Anuman, the creative force behind a string of venues in the Thai capital including Teens of Thailand, Asia Today, and Tax, believes the enhanced focus on bars reflects the innovation at play on Asia’s cocktail scene.
“As anyone who has been to this part of the world knows, Asia has one of the most thrilling bar scenes on the planet, with mixologists who fuse local ingredients with time-tested traditions and innovative techniques,” he said. “It’s thrilling to be part of this groundbreaking year at the World Gourmet Festival, where mixology is finally taking centre stage alongside the culinary world, and I can’t wait to surprise guests with what we have in store.”
Kicking off this year’s World Gourmet Festival is the glittering gala dinner, featuring an exclusive six-course menu, each dish prepared by one of the chefs. Representing a diverse array of cuisines from Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia and beyond, each guest chef will host an exclusive dining event at Anantara Siam’s signature restaurants.
